Veterans are formed from the ferocity of war - these battle-hardened men are always ready to lay their lives for Mother Russia. Given the finest gear the land can offer, these veterans took the fight to the front to protect their homeland from the invaders.
If the Soviet army was not on the whole an elite fighting force, it certainly included its fair share of battle-hardened veterans. It was not uncommon for squads of hand-picked, decorated men to be assigned to particularly important objectives or critical areas where their greater experience would have the most impact.
These solid infantry will form a very themed backbone for your force. Being equiped either with a submachine gun or use their normal rifle, you can create multiple squads for all scenarios.Models supplied unassembled and unpainted

Excellent models,unlike on some soviet models the DP28 LMGS carried by these figures are fairly well proportioned,as are most other weapons.
Surprisingly soviet ww2 figures in snow suits are rare,Artizan does some but of slightly less quality. Plus even though it's xmas time they arrived in reasonable time even for second class post.
These figures are well proportioned,the baggy snow suits hint at the padded layers of clothing and also webbing etc beneath.
If I have one complaint it is that any supporting weapons would be in winter clothing but not snow suits. This is NOT a problem unique to warlord though,as I said Soviets in snow suits are thin on the ground.
These are the best out there. Period.
Personally I'm creating penal troops from the plastic winter set to charge in front of them,snow based for all but no snow suits for penal troops!!!
